This session introduces the Trauma-Responsive Technical Education Framework, a model developed specifically for career and technical education settings such as classrooms, laboratories, shops, agricultural facilities, and clinical learning environments. The presentation examines how trauma can affect student engagement, regulation, behavior, persistence, and performance in technically demanding spaces and explains why general trauma-informed approaches may not fully address the unique realities of CTE. The session will benefit secondary and postsecondary CTE teachers, teacher educators, administrators, counselors, and student support professionals seeking practical strategies to strengthen safety, trust, predictability, engagement, and instructional responsiveness in their programs. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the framework and how it can be applied in their own classrooms, laboratories, and institutions without lowering rigor or compromising technical standards. Audience engagement will include guided reflection, discussion, and scenario-based application connected to real CTE contexts. Participants will receive presentation materials and practical resources, such as a framework overview handout, reflection or planning tools, and summary slides, to support implementation in their own settings.
