ACTE Postsecondary CTE Summit 2026

The ReSkill/UpSkill Initiative showcases a strategic partnership between K–12 school districts and the Southern California ROC to reskill and upskill district employees in response to evolving workforce needs. This initiative strengthens internal talent pipelines - providing staff with access to industry-aligned training pathways leading to certification, advancement, and long-term career mobility.


Participants will explore how this collaboration leveraged CTE infrastructure and industry expertise to design targeted training programs, address district workforce gaps, improve retention and institutional capacity, and build sustainable, scalable workforce development models.


The session examines program design, funding strategies, governance considerations, and implementation lessons learned. Designed for district and ROC/P administrators facing staffing shortages, limited hiring pools, and fiscal constraints, this session provides practical planning tools and replicable strategies to develop sustainable, workforce-aligned professional development systems - reframing workforce shortages as an opportunity to invest in people and strengthen institutional capacity, and the broader regional economy.
