Lorri Benjamin is the Director of Adult and Community Education for Brevard PublicSchools. With 16 years with Brevard Public Schools she has been afforded theopportunity to work in many different roles in the organization. She began her career inBrevard as an academic coach in mathematics and was a coordinator for one of the highschool’s magnet programs focusing on STEAM education. She has worked as anadministrator in both middle and high School. Previous to these experiences she taughtPre-k- 6 th grade in Syracuse, New York.
She resides on Merritt Island, in Florida. Lorri has two grown children residing in Florida,one that is also an educator. Her granddaughter is in First grade and is a joy to watch growand learn. She enjoys travel and experiencing new places and culture. Lorri’s belief andpassion for education and giving back to the community has been the advocacy needed togrow adult education in her county. Brevard Adult and Community Education hascontinued to grow as a place where adult learners re-imagine a new beginning for theirformal education by acquiring skill sets that focus on their individual academic and workforce goals. She continues to explore workforce opportunities to build dynamic IETprograms . Relationship building is a strength for Lorri and she continues to open dialoguewith key stakeholders to open doors for adult learners. Brevard Adult Educationadvocates for life-long learning based on inquiry and interest promoting literacy for adultsin innovative ways.
