About me
Clayn Lambert, PhD is Department Chair and Clinical Associate Professor at Idaho State University College of Technology, where he has spent 24 years building learning systems that meet skeptical, performance-driven professionals where they are. His work centers on scalable instructional design frameworks that enable rigid educational systems to adapt without breaking—competency-based curriculum, AI-enhanced learning models, and just-in-time training that connects directly to workplace performance. He earned the Kole-McGuffy Award for Outstanding Research (2019) for establishing that effective instruction for developmental learners requires meeting students where they are, not where curriculum says they should be—a finding that shaped his dissertation work and continues to drive the S(TAC)K framework. His current research explores how AI-enabled scaffolding makes individualized instruction scalable, allowing educators to teach to the edges rather than the comfortable middle.
