About me
Cheryl York McDonough has been an English teacher, humanities chair, curriculum director, co-principal, and executive director of 7-12 schools. A New Hampshire native, she graduated from Keene State College with a degree in English and Education; completed a principal’s and superintendent’s certificate through Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire; and completed her Juris Doctorate Degree at Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, Massachusetts Cheryl has served on several school boards in NH and has been included several times in Who’s Who Among America’s Educators and Who’s Who of American Women. Her work with struggling students has earned her recognition throughout New England and she was invited by the New Hampshire Commissioner of Education to be part of the League of Innovative Schools. Cheryl has been a consultant for twenty-five years and, in this role, she has facilitated thousands of trainings and presented at numerous state and national conferences. Her current focus is on Career and Technical Schools using literacy strategies authentic to their courses; providing tools and skills to integrate these strategies in a meaningful way.
