Laura E. Michaelson is a Senior Researcher in the Education Systems and Policy program at American Institutes for Research (AIR). She is co-founder and co-director of the Methods of Synthesis and Integration Center (MOSAIC) at AIR, supporting the use and uptake of systematic review methods across the organization. Her primary responsibilities include leading systematic evidence review projects and federal evidence review clearinghouse contracts, designing methods and applications to improve systematic review methods, and developing products to translate meta-analytic findings to a variety of audiences. Michaelson is also skilled in experimental and quasi-experimental research evaluation designs and the development of dissemination strategies that translate research to practice for policymakers and practitioners. Prior to joining AIR, Michaelson was a Research Associate at the University of Colorado Boulder with a dual appointment in the Blueprints for Healthy Youth Development research clearinghouse and the Renee Crown Wellness Institute. She received her PhD and MA in Cognitive Psychology from the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder where she also completed a graduate certificate in Quantitative Methods in the Behavioral Sciences.
