About me
Monique Anair, Ed.D. serves as the Director of Workforce Development for Santa Fe Community College’s Continuing Education Department, where she leads the design, development, and delivery of high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways aligned to regional labor market demand. In this role, Monique collaborates with state agencies, employers, K–12 partners, and community organizations to expand access to postsecondary workforce credentials for adult learners, high school students, and historically underserved populations. With more than 20 years of experience across secondary and postsecondary CTE systems, Monique has played a key role in the development and teaching of dual credit and early college programs, supporting seamless transitions from high school to college and career. Her work includes curriculum development, faculty and instructor support, program implementation, and alignment of secondary and postsecondary education with in-demand industry sectors. Throughout her career, Monique has successfully leveraged federal and state funding sources—including Perkins, WIOA, TAACCCT, and other workforce development grants—to strengthen career pathways, scale dual credit opportunities, and support student persistence and credential attainment.
In addition to her administrative and instructional leadership, Monique conducts mixed-methods research focused on CTE and non-credit postsecondary education in New Mexico’s community colleges. Her scholarship examines student outcomes and experiences within workforce and early college programs, with particular attention to the impact of poverty on degree attainment, the unintended consequences of state and federal policy, governance structures influencing postsecondary access, and systemic mechanisms affecting socioeconomic mobility and equity. Her research has been presented and published through the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM), the Scholars Strategy Network, and the University of New Mexico Statewide Diversity Summit.
