About me
Tonia Shook serves as the Director of Fred K. Marchman Technical College in Pasco County Schools, where she leads one of the region’s premier postsecondary career and technical education institutions. With more than 25 years of experience in K–12 and postsecondary education, she is committed to expanding workforce pathways that connect students to high-demand careers and strengthen the regional economy.
Under her leadership, Marchman Technical College has expanded career dual enrollment opportunities, strengthened industry partnerships, and increased student success across workforce programs.Tonia has also led several innovative initiatives designed to broaden access to workforce education. She launched the East Pasco extension campus to serve early learning educators across more than 20 childcare centers and secured a $1 million grant to establish the Phoenix RISE Program, an inclusive postsecondary workforce program supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in obtaining career credentials and employment. Under her leadership, the college has also achieved strong student outcomes, including high certification pass rates, program completion, and job placement.
Beyond her campus, Tonia is actively engaged in regional workforce development. She serves on the leadership board for Spark Pasco–Hernando, the region’s Local College Access Network, and the Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board Education and Industry Consortium, where she collaborates with educators, employers, and community leaders to align training programs with workforce needs. She is also an active member of the Trinity Rotary Club and works closely with economic development partners to strengthen career pathways throughout the community.
Tonia is a graduate of the ACTE NextLevel Fellowship, a national leadership development program for emerging career and technical education leaders. She holds master’s degrees in teaching and educational leadership and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Management at Liberty University. She is a strong advocate for career and technical education and works to elevate the role of workforce education in expanding opportunity for students and strengthening communities.
